I find I need a compass as well, because if I know which way I'm supposed to be looking it's easier to identify things!Christine Hardinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09814026435889782750noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4512516523018627966.post-91882967333241938192015-03-04T00:35:13.512+00:002015-03-04T00:35:13.512+00:00I love stargazing, and since I never know what I a...I love stargazing, and since I never know what I am looking at, I need a book like this!Kathttp://mirabiledictu.orgnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4512516523018627966.post-36350920883572635132015-03-02T16:51:45.633+00:002015-03-02T16:51:45.633+00:00I wondered if they were related, but I think not. ...I wondered if they were related, but I think not. Like you, I knew lots of the stories when I was little, but never related them to constellations - I am sure you would enjoy this book, especially if you have large areas of sky and very little pollution. I'm jealous!Christine Hardinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09814026435889782750noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4512516523018627966.post-47485040575638872832015-02-27T07:37:26.852+00:002015-02-27T07:37:26.852+00:00Fascinating! Now we're living in Northumberland I've been able to appreciate the stars so much more than before - the skies are so big here and very little light pollution. I saw Mars and Venus and the crescent moon too, but didn't attempt a photo - it's so difficult because of the long exposure needed.

I may just have to get Stories in the Stars, An Atlas of Constellations for myself too - I used to read stories about the stars when I was little, but without relating them to the actual constellations. It looks excellent. I wondered if it was the same Victoria Hislop who writes novels, but see it is Susanna - I wonder if they are related?Margaret @ BooksPleasehttp://www.booksplease.orgnoreply@blogger.com
