When I was in hospital a few years back I did embroidery, and it kept me sane, so I can see that colouring would be uplifting. And you'd have the anticipation of waiting to see what someone else had created. I have to giggle at the colouring book phase that's going on at the moment - I've always coloured in and I've always just about been able to find sufficiently detailed colouring books to satisfy me. When a friend was in hospital for a long time last year, we had a colouring book on the go which went back and forth, a page each, which was lovely. I am taking advantage of the craze to pick up nice sets of pencils and new books while they're readily available and on special offer, though!LyzzyBeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16398604923871095647noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4512516523018627966.post-30157479714261624972015-07-20T17:16:11.747+01:002015-07-20T17:16:11.747+01:00Obviously I(in view of age) I have paints, as well...Obviously I(in view of age) I have paints, as well as pencils, bbut they look even more scary!Christine Hardinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09814026435889782750noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4512516523018627966.post-51751873633515927272015-07-20T14:10:21.593+01:002015-07-20T14:10:21.593+01:00Chicken! What you need is a Reeves paint box with little squares of delightfully-named colours like vermilion and burnt umber.
Happy colouring.Nomeyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07852416489125069782noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4512516523018627966.post-53151957216255829102015-07-19T15:37:53.398+01:002015-07-19T15:37:53.398+01:00Good Luck with the colouring book - there are lots...Good Luck with the colouring book - there are lots of them around in the UK at the moment. I think your colouring book is perfectly acceptable. I've been thinking about getting an adult colouring book so I could jump on the bandwagon- it only occurred to me last week that there'd bound to be a Paris one- sadly they're sold out in Australia! So I'm on a waiting list at my bookshop. The Confectioner's Tale does look fun, I'd pick up that cover too. I'll read anything with an Eiffel Tower on the cover. Please do join in with the French Bingo- it's fun, and keeps you reading- I've read 10 or 12 books for it now, but still haven't made a bingo!Louisehttp://astrongbeliefinwicker.blogspot.com.au/2015/07/lhotel-dieu-de-paris.htmlnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4512516523018627966.post-26071327181729084522015-07-18T17:05:20.657+01:002015-07-18T17:05:20.657+01:00I thought it was just me who felt like that! I'm not sure I'm brave enough to color the images though - I'd be afraid of messing them up :)Mollyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08414201637917215413noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4512516523018627966.post-48499668293146956032015-07-18T15:25:57.494+01:002015-07-18T15:25:57.494+01:00Jeanie, I always forget that people in America don...Jeanie, I always forget that people in America don't seem to know about Oxfam. It's a UK-based charity, with around 700 shops selling donated goods - is that what you call thrift shops? The money raised, plus donations, and fundraising pays for humanitarian aid all over the world. like clean water, sanitation, education, farming, as well as disaster relief in places like the Philippines after the hurricane, or war-zones like Syria. I volunteer in one of their book shops (great place for a book lover) but they also sell books, clothes etc online. Here's the linkt! http://www.oxfam.org.uk/shop/booksChristine Hardinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09814026435889782750noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4512516523018627966.post-72184709027778726732015-07-18T13:40:52.211+01:002015-07-18T13:40:52.211+01:00There is WAY too much to love in this post! And lots of good titles here. And I love the coloring book concept. For one thing, I learn to draw better when I can start looking at simpler images, like the coloring book, and get the feel of the line in my fingers. Then soon, it becomes more and more your own. Plus, coloring is FUN!

Thanks for coming by the Marmelade Gypsy and commenting on my Paris in July and Tea Party posts! July is a busy month for bloggers, to be sure -- extra hard when holiday time is included, and I'm slow catching up with people!

Here's a question though. You mentioned spotting a book in Oxfam and I'm not familiar with that. A website? A store? Cheers!Jeaniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17482528482559445943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4512516523018627966.post-80172185516243603772015-07-18T08:51:39.610+01:002015-07-18T08:51:39.610+01:00Thank you Vicki.
