I what people have written, and think I MUST have that... I do hope you enjoy it, because I shall feel horribly responsible if you don't.Christine Hardinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09814026435889782750noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4512516523018627966.post-16616146310261026292013-09-24T12:37:35.896+01:002013-09-24T12:37:35.896+01:00I did enjoy this very much, when I finally read it...I did enjoy this very much, when I finally read it: I always delay reading any of your gardening posts because they always end up being expensive! True to form I've just ordered a copy of the Jenny Joseph book. I can't wait for it to arrive, and would never have heard of it but for you. Thank you, and happy gardening!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4512516523018627966.post-47857948960392085102013-09-22T10:01:40.618+01:002013-09-22T10:01:40.618+01:00Fortunately the good Canon only uses Greek a few t...Fortunately the good Canon only uses Greek a few times, which is just as well, because I've never even managed to get to grips with the alphabet! The Jenny Joseph book really is lovely - it's a very individual response to a year in the garden, and I think that of all the senses, smell is one that we don't always consider, yet it can evoke such memories, and can determine our mood and lift our spirits.Christine Hardinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09814026435889782750noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4512516523018627966.post-33994946323455592742013-09-21T11:45:53.875+01:002013-09-21T11:45:53.875+01:00Lovely post. I love Canon Ellacombe, in spite of his assumption that everyone reads Greek!callmemadamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12711070764040041338noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4512516523018627966.post-63796170943655922762013-09-20T10:47:36.087+01:002013-09-20T10:47:36.087+01:00Lori, I'm glad you enjoyed the post. I'm not much of a gardener either - I much prefer reading about them to do doing the work!Christine Hardinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09814026435889782750noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4512516523018627966.post-38645881351715650432013-09-20T10:46:38.480+01:002013-09-20T10:46:38.480+01:00Pam, I like the idea of gardening by colour - you ...Pam, I like the idea of gardening by colour - you could do it season by season. On my walks I've noticed that certain colours seem to dominate at certain times of the year. Next year I'm aiming to attract insects with lots of colour and perfume.Christine Hardinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09814026435889782750noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4512516523018627966.post-10268758765247587752013-09-20T05:58:09.585+01:002013-09-20T05:58:09.585+01:00This is a lovely posting, I like books like this a...This is a lovely posting, I like books like this and would love to have the ones you have pictured! I do have a shelf of books along the same line though, and they are always very pleasant and comforting to look at, but alas, I am not a gardener though.Lorihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11834243825586087161noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4512516523018627966.post-23098070628692114002013-09-19T05:58:54.142+01:002013-09-19T05:58:54.142+01:00Gardening books are most comforting and whenever I...Gardening books are most comforting and whenever I open one I find myself in the yard 30 min later b/c I get so fired up. So I need to read them on nice days. Lovely post. There is an Australian gardening book I believe called, Gardening by Colour, came out in the 1990's and it is completely colour coded. There is a blue section, yellow section, red, etc. Absolutely stunning to look at. One could have a great deal of fun with it. Pamhttp://travellinpenguin.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.com
